<p>Hi, I'm a student from another school (Georgia Tech) who has somehow managed to sneak into the SURF program this summer to work for one of the math professors. I have read a good amount about the program online, but one question that remains in my mind is what social life is like during the summer on campus? Are there parties, do Caltech and non-Caltech students interact, does the SURF program try to facilitate social stuff, etc?</p>
<p>No problem… About half of Caltech undergrads stay for a SURF during the summer, and there is stuff going on. They have seminars, talks, and such set up for the SURFers, and meals are communal. The social stuff is open to anyone, and techers are definitely not snobs - you’ll fit in!</p>
