I am thinking about med school after my undergrad for surgery. I think I would love surgery but I am just worried about the work hours. I hear they often work more than 80+ hours/week. I want time for a family. Working 16 hours a day, I think it would be nearly impossible to find a wife working like that. Would you marry someone that works that much??

your thinking too far ahead and with blinders. Why can’t you meet your love in college or med school.

Also, how many Surgeons,do you know? it is a job that is always in demand because, quite frankly, there really aren’t that many of them. Therefore, it is going to require a lot of time from you for your first few weeks.

I feel your pain, I want to become an investment banker, but they work 80+ hours a week as well. After working only a few 60 hour week myself, I dont know how ill be able to handle it.

good luck!
