Surgical masks?

My daughter is 34 just has a small face. Not sure if kids masks will fit her.

That’s disappointing to see. I’ve not had any problems with the masks I’ve ordered so haven’t dealt with their customer complaints dept. Hope they resolve the issue soon.

My wife can wear some of the kids masks. The kids Evergreen Cleartop fit her best of the traditional KF94s. She wears the Etiqa Small now. It’s the best fit she’s found thus far. Kollecte is out, but they routinely replenish stock.

I got a chance to try my Lutema small adult for a longer period today and still like the fit. Certainly worth trying for your daughter - if she’s not offended by their use of the number 95 in their name .

I finally received my Masklab KF94 masks today. I ordered some as a result of reading the Aaron Collins list, and I ordered through the link he provided. So many of his KN95 & KF94 recommendations were sold out, and I felt fortunate to get these. I like them a lot - they are lightweight with a snug fit. I also wear Honeywell N95 masks purchased at Menards, but the KF94 masks are so much more comfortable (and easier to put on when running into a store).

That’s good to know. I ordered some from there earlier today, it was the first time I’d visited the site and they were not all sold out. I wish (more) sites offered sampler packs so I could try out different brands without having to commit to 5 or 10 without knowing how they fit.

I have ordered KF94 masks from https://behealthyusa.net/
They have some mix and match options. The BOTN masks come in small, medium, large and extra large. I recently ordered 10 mix and match to try some different ones.
Currently they are out of a lot of varieties but it may be worth checking periodically as they seem to replenish fairly often.

A friend is planning a bridal shower and thinking about ordering some customized masks. Does anyone know of a “safe” mask that can be customized?

Most of the custom ones I’ve seen are cloth. Masklab has a bunch of really cool premade ones though. They have great color patterns. A lot are sold out though.

I really like the fit of my VIDA KF94 masks a lot. They fit very well.

Those are some cool designs.

I read thru this thread with interest. We are venturing out on our first plane/trains/hotels trip in almost 2 years.

I have a small face.

I’m fine with the blue surgical masks for my day to day life. I have some KN95’s from Costco which I modify with a staple in the chin area so they are a bit smaller. But I wanted something more fitted and vetted for the journey.

My original plan was to wear some of the Draeger masks with a vent which worked extremely well during the CA fires. Couldn’t smell any smoke. I was going to wear a blue mask so that it covered the vent. But that was a lot of hardware around the ears and head.

So…to whomever here introduced these

THANK YOU. Picked up a box of ten at my local Home Depot. They fit very well. No fogging of glasses.

I don’t think the rubber bands which go around the head are going to last all that long. But given the structure of the mask they would be easily replaced.

That’s my favorite. :+1::+1:

I have a box of those. They fit my face well and are comfortable, but the top strap keeps trying to slide up, which is annoying and makes even more of a mess of my fine straight hair. I finally started pulling all my hair over both straps (like when you put a pony-tail through the gap in a ball cap), which worked better. I’ve ordered some with ear loops but they won’t be here until the 27th.

Sounds like we are ‘hair sisters’. I too, have fine hair. Still working on how to best manage those rubber bands. I’ve tried putting my hair in one of those jaw type clips and then putting the top band of the mask over the clip. Seems to be working somewhat. Keeps the band from direct contact with my hair and also the clip keeps it from slipping around.

Most 3M masks have the rubber band straps that pull at my hair. The BYD mask I wear has elastic so, while it slides if it isn’t positioned correctly, at least I can take it on/off without it tearing my hair out. When my hair is short, I’ll pull just the top (ears up) into a high pony tail so the strap can catch on the hair tie.

I use this technique to don my N95. Putting the bottom strap on first helps me position and adjust the top strap so it doesn’t slide. I don’t like touching the front of my mask so usually use a tissue or paper towel to hold the front as I don and doff the mask.

Am I the only one who prefers ear loops? I tried the around the head things and they were very uncomfortable. Of course I would wear that if I was required to…but it’s not a requirement so for now, I’m sticking to ear loops. I have a bunch of different KN95 masks now.

Depends on case numbers and what I am doing. I always wear the N95 with head straps at work and with patients. I will also wear it to crowded places like Costco. If case numbers are low, if I’m in a non crowded environment, or if I am taking my mask on and off frequently, I’ll wear a KN95 with ear loops. I can’t wear the ear loops all day because, by the end of the day, my ears are sore.

Edit: I’m in Los Angeles where there was only one month in 2021 where we weren’t required to wear masks indoors.

I have been wearing the Happy Life Good Day mask daily (10 hours) since the beginning of September in our clinic. I have not had an issue with any of the mask like stated in the above. I do rewear them, alternating daily; I can see where the seam may give overtime, but have been very happy with them. Unlike the KN95 that the clinic provides, these do not shed fibers, making you feel like you have a hair under your mask!
