20-Pack 3M Aura N95 Foldable Particulate Respirators for less than $26 on Amazon.
Great mask. I think the 20 packs are out.
Just an FYI also for anyone else reading this, make sure Amazon is the seller and not just the fulfiller. I got counterfeit 1870+ (the medical version, purportedly more fluid resistant, red straps) from a “medical supply” company. Amazon is an authorized distributor, but OZ Medical isn’t. When they are close to $1 ea, they’re usually fake.
They can’t be any of the other categories.
-
N-95s only go around the back of the head (no ear loops)
-
KN95s are only from China
-
KF94s are only from Korea.
A mask that has ear loops made in USA has to be something different, so Lutema/MI Technologies called theirs M95i. They test very well in independent testing.
The KN95 masks I got from VIDA say “Made in USA” on them.
Well, that’s meaningless then because it is a Chinese standard. See the list of the different standards by country here:
https://www.umaryland.edu/coronavirus/content/testing-hygiene-and-health/kn95-mask-instructions.php
They could just call them masks.
There is a US standard for ear loop masks, ASTM. The Cranberry 360 is my favorite.
I ordered KF94 masks and have been wearing them with a surgical mask on top. I like them- they form a tight seal and fit well. It turns out they were made in China and not in Korea, which means they are fake……? I will continue to wear them, but ordered some others two weeks ago that were made in Korea. Looking forward to getting them.
So could Vida.
Lutema says their surgical masks meet the ASTM standards too. (BTW, the ASTM used to stand for American Society for Testing and Materials, but they are international now and just use the letters.)
You can cross check against Aaron Collins’ data set here: Master Mask Testing Data Set - Google Sheets
Got the link from one of his many YouTube videos. He rates the filtration efficiency for the Lutema M95i with the nose pinched at 99.2%. It’s not the highest rated filtration efficiency of the masks he rates, but that is pretty darn good.
I thought the VIDA masks I ordered were Aaron Collins stamp of approval ones.
They fit well, and I’m going to use them. Both the KN95 and the KF94.
I like BYD Care surgical masks. Costco and Amazon sell them. I just ordered a box of their KN95 to try.
About BYD Care:
They probably are good and Aaron Collins approved (I haven’t checked the spreadsheet for them), but if they are made in USA the KN95 is meaningless because KN95 is not a US standard. It’s a Chinese standard. There is no USA KN95 or KF94 standard.
I may be stock piling, but I just order these from Amazon

I live in nyc. I do take public transportation and Ubers sometimes. They will come in handy. I do have a lot kn95s.
My Amazon account shows that they are sold by and ship from “Aabaco Environmental.” Hmmm…
The country standard and where they are made are not related. 3M makes many N95s in Shanghai. BYD makes both KN95s with ear loops and N95s with head loops. The latter are NIOSH approved. Some people like them, but for me personally, the crossing of the beams, essentially putting head straps on a flat fold cone intended for ear loops doesn’t work well for me.
I have no doubt that the Lutema filters fine if Aaron Collins says it does. What I have a problem with, and apparently the NYT did too, is using misleading labeling to appear to be something they aren’t, a respirator certified by any country’s standards.
Back to the Collins data, his holy grail is high filtration, with low pressure drop and no collapse. BOTN, Bluna, LG Airwasher, Evergreen Cleantop and 3M Aura are standouts.
I bought 3M N95’s from our local Home Depot yesterday. They had 3 packs, and also larger packs - 3 for +/- $11, 10 for +/- $23 etc. DH has just got new hearing aids and the ear-loops masks tend to yank them out thus the move towards N95’s. I prefer the KF94’s and have been buying from BeHealthy since last March rather than Amazon which I tend not to trust. Initially I purchased a sample pack of 10 for $30 choosing pretty randomly (they all seemed fine) and recently Botn and Bluna though I’m finding them rather large. Also purchased LA Hauteur KF94’s from KollecteUSA which fit well though I have to tie a knot it the earl-loops as they’re not adjustable. My order to Vida (thanks to this thread) should be delivered tomorrow and I’m following the discussion here on the Lutema masks as it sounds as though they’re a good fit for small faces.
read this about kolllecte production problems Reddit - Dive into anything
Kollecte is just a reseller. They have roughly 70 mask SKUs. I would classify this as a HappyLife GoodDay production problem as opposed to a Kollecte problem and probably avoid that brand for now. With those holes maybe they could rename it NotSoGoodDay.
They have adjustable Evergreen Cleantops in stock right now BTW. It’s one of Aaron Collins’ favorites.
I like my lutema masks.
Any suggestions for masks for small faces? My daughter has been using surgical style masks doubled but they don’t fit her great.
She tried on LG Airwasher, Goodday and the regular Adult sized Lutema masks and they all were big on her. Aside from trying the Lutema small any other suggestions?
Thanks
I believe Demetech has children’s sizes, at least for their D95 version. Their website says they are the same masks as their N95, just with ear loops.
