suspension question

in april I was suspended for 2 weeks because my friend and I were climbing a building, noticed an unlocked door, and set off a silent alarm. (it was a just for fun kind of thing) we tried to escape by jumping down from teh building, and my friend made it allright but i fracture-burst a vertebrate and suffered some minor nerve damage. but the police were there so they of course contacted my school and I was immediately suspended for 2 weeks, and for 10 of those days i was in the hospital where i had one major surgery and one minor surgery. the doctor ordered me not to go back however i did, just in time for, (yay!), 5 finals, 5 APs, 2 make-up tests, 2 final essays and 2 final projects. (thank god i got an extension on my last essay)

it was probably the most painful couple of weeks in my entire life. it was the first time i've ever gotten in trouble for anything at the school, and i hope it was the last. so far i'd like to think i've been a pretty good student, and i think i've learned a lesson for this. somehow i managed to get through finals with A's in 7 classes and a B in the 8th (modern physics II honors). I think I did reasonably well in my APs though I'm not sure. I've got a 800 on the SAT math, 800 in reading, and a 740 in writing. I was really hoping to go to a good college. however I know suspensions are serious and I would like to know how that will effect my chances. I would really like to put this past me, and knowing that colleges will reject me because of the suspension is kinda like rubbing salt in it :(

you get to explain suspensions and arrests and stuff on your application, i believe.

i'd work on a better explanation than the one you gave though, it kind of...sucks. no offense.

although i don't think suspensions go on your transcript, and the common app pretty much leaves it up to you to self-report. personally, i wouldn't.

Just don't mention it on the Common App. They'll never know.

^It's true but, be careful, your high school counselor might mention it on the recommendation form.
