Suspensions and Admissions?

So late last year (11th grade) I was suspended for a...practical joke gone terribly wrong for one day. In my opinion (and the opinions of several parents, teachers, and peers) the punishment was trumped up, yet it stood. Other than that, I have had a flawless behavioral record and I am on the National Honor Society.

So, I noticed the Common App asks about suspensions, and seeing that all but two of the schools I'm considering applying to (UC Berkeley and Rutgers) use the Common App, am I in pretty deep? Or will the schools overlook the suspension?

A one day suspension normally wouldn’t be a big issue. Your GC will probably have to explain it. Are you applying OOS to UCB? Can you pay $55K/year?

Thank you, Erin’s Dad.

Yes, I am applying OOS to Berkeley, In-state to Rutgers.

$55k a year, while not cheap, is fortunately doable for me.

OT - Also, woah that’s odd…I’m dating an Erin. :o

Definitely not mine, though I went to HS in NJ.

Hahaha well judging by your location, I wouldn’t think so. xD
