Swarthmore Admits Five Na'vi for Class of 2014

Next year, Swatties may be confused when they see several Na’vi students walking around in Sharples, the Science Center, and other buildings on campus. However, Swatties should have no fear; the Navi are not here to fight. Rather, they are just as eager and passionate as other Swatties in getting a liberal arts education.

The story is awesome and the cornification even moreso.

AHHH. there are glittery unicorns and rainbows everywhere!

dadx3 beat me to it this year! Always look forward to today’s version of Daily Gazette every year. :)

Praise be to Lucretia Mott that you can turn the blasted things off. Click “No mo’ cornrs” over on the right.

Swarthmore has a tradition of some pretty good April Fool’s Pranks on campus. I thought the year they chalked the entire issue of the Daily Gazette on the sidewalks was pretty fantastic.

Setting up Brittney Spears college dorm room in Parrish was good.

Jake Beckman had several classics with his oversized sculptures like the Converse All-Stars and one that has become a landmark, now in version 2.0:

But, the grand prize has to go to the infamous *Hangman of Hungary * prank. This is seriously funny:

I think this has got to be this year’s winner.

Especially because Swatties are way too smart to spend all night digging a hole deep enough to bury something as big as Big Chair 2.0.

Brilliant (or should I say glittery?) job, DG! What I would like to know is, was the on campus version of “The Truth About the Truth” any different?

Amusing note: Voice of America and NPR contacted Swarthmore’s press office to ask about the new North Korean school a dean was leaving for ( [Dean Leaves for North Korea :: The Daily Gazette](<a href=“daily.swarthmore.edu domain has changed”>daily.swarthmore.edu domain has changed) ).

The Daily Gazette was one of the Chronicle of Higher Education’s 10 best April Fool’s Day issues last week.
