Hi, could u plz share the applicant portal with me? I didn’t find the portal email

Heres the link: https://apply.swarthmore.edu/apply/status

I think you need the original email to activate yoru account so you may have to contact admissions@swarthmore.edu to get it set up.

I’m hopeing your checklist was complete. You should have logged in a while ago to make sure they recieved all of your documents (transcripts, scores, ect). Best of luck!

Guys, What will happen if i apply to another college even though i admitted? (ED)

If you’re admitted ED you have to revoke all your other applications, decline any offers of acceptance from other colleges, and not submit any more applications to other schools (provided the financial aid is good enough from Swat).

If something has changed, and you have changed your mind, you should speak with the admissions office. If it’s about finances, talk to someone in the aid office.

If you’re wondering if you can just sit on the acceptance and wait to see if you get a “better offer”, the answer is no.

is there something i can do with? i just received really nice offer that i was not expected.

Thinking of all of you! We had a cake and celebration last night because regardless of Swat’s decision he and you ALL are wonderful and worthy. Celebrate that before you know the outcome! And, of course, best wishes tomorrow too

@Ari4444444, I recommend you read this article: https://swarthmorephoenix.com/2006/10/26/bock-early-decision-admissions-works-in-the-context-of-swarthmore/

It’s an interview of the Dead of Admissions at Swarthmore, Jim Bock.

Here is an excerpt that may help you:
“Early Decision is “not a legally binding contract,” said Bock, “and we won’t force a student to attend if they can’t afford it.” Students are notified of Swarthmore’s decision in time to apply to other colleges if they so choose. In practice, one or two families a year withdraw from early decision. Bock follows these students, and he assured us that “they all have options
they end up at good schools.” In the past, most of these families have actually been upper-to-middle class families who choose large amounts of merit aid over Swarthmore’s financial aid package, which is based solely on need.”

I wouldn’t panic too much. You haven’t even been accepted yet! Anyway, best of luck to you wherever you attend!

Our checklists have disappeared! 8 hours to go! :grimacing:

Good luck!!!

I got deferred! Do you think that it was a pity deferral or do I still have a chance? Any advice on what to do?

I got deferred too! I’ve been reading about it and it seems like at Swarthmore a deferral is a pretty good thing. A good number of people who are deferred are ultimately accepted. It of course is not ensured and I’m sure a lot of people who were deferred are rejected too, but I think we should be hopeful, while also now focusing on our RD haha. I think we just have to send any new accomplishments in an email (along with our midyear grades).

I’ve seen in other Swat ED threads that some who are deferred do get in RD! Consider writing a letter of continued interest to punctuate your love of Swat and goodness of fit. Also, some send an additional letter of recommendation
and strong mid year grades are helpful, of course.

Good luck! And keep us posted!
