How do you know that?
Their website says 15th.

In 2010, letters to domestic applicants were postmarked 12/7; 12/8 in 2011. Last year it was reported that they went out in batches with the first postmarked 12/10. momof3sons has been pretty darn accurate in knowing when they actually go to the USPS.

momof3sons–or anyone else-- do you know when mailing date is?

I am on pins and needles!

^^^As I have said to others, I will let you know when letters are going into the mail as soon as I know. I won’t guess or give out unreliable information. Patience is hard at this time of year, I know. :(

It is so painful waiting (I sadly think I will get rejected, but I just want to know). Thank you momof3sons for dealing with us as we freak out…

I’m applying ED! Can’t wait to hear back :)

this is incredibly painful

how many internationals are applying…anyone?

One more reason to be patient is that the USPS, despite its good overall record, can be unpredictable. After waiting for a week, our Swattie called admissions to say that the letter had not arrived. Admissions then mailed a second copy, which showed up before the original letter did.

I can share that last year my international son received his ED notification on 12 December. Acceptances came by FedEx.

I called earlier today and they still hadn’t mailed them out. Let’s just hope they mail them tomorrow (I will probably end up calling again like Thursday if nobody has received anything yet)…

Thanks, ArtsyGirl13! I’d been terrified that I would come home today and find it there already.
Also @momof3sons, thank you so much for your info-- how did you become so well-informed?

Lucia917 and everyone else who has asked…I am sure you will understand when I say that I can’t reveal my source so you will have to trust me that it is a reliable source.
I promise that as soon as I know, I will post.

With all the bad weather and flight delays in the Northeast, you may find that mail will be delayed. I wonder “why the secrecy?” - why the AD doesn’t publish their intended mailing date for all to see…

“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds…”

And colleges don’t publish mailing dates so that their adcoms can get some chuckles reading CC posts from antsy applicants and their parents.

Domestic admissions decisions are being mailed today.

Internationals will get emails and mailed/FedEx’d packages to internationals will ship within the next couple of days. I do NOT know exactly when international emails are being sent.

Your next question is probably going to be “when will I receive my mail?”
In the past, students living within about an hour of Swarthmore have received the mail within a day. Those within a 2-4 hour range or so have taken two days, etc. You will be dependent on the USPS after today.

@momof3sons Thank you so much for letting us know! This means hopefully I will know Thursday. Would you happen to know what the different envelopes will look like size wise?

Hi guys! I know I’m a bit late to the chat, but I really need to unload all my nervous energy here! Here’s a little bit about me:
SAT: 2100
GPA: 3.87 (unweighted)
Extracurriculars: Shakespeare productions, and lots of community service
Ethnicity: Caucasian even though I lived in Asia for most of my life!

I moved to the US for the first time last year and I am loving it so much! Now I actually live very close to the college (Havertown, PA) so I will most likely get the decision letters very soon after they are sent! I wish you all the best of luck and will keep you updated on everything!! :)

I just saw your post, momof3sons, and am holding my breath until the post comes tomorrow! Here we go!!!

Just so you aren’t disappointed, unless things have changed from last year, acceptances are in the same size envelope as rejections. There is no big package, at least not for ED.

Good luck!
