Swarthmore ED CLASS OF 2022 OFFICIAL THREAD

Hey Guys! Anyone nervous about the upcoming admission decisions?

I matched to Swarthmore through Questbridge! I look forward to meeting all of you!

hi! Did anyone else get an email about missing documents for financial aid? Will this impact my financial aid decision? Does anyone have a financial aid decision yet?

Well, what did they say in the email? Did they ask you to send those documents ASAP or just told you that your documents are incomplete? They will release the decision with admission decision.

Yesterday, Some people got a decision in their financial aid checklist already through a “Financial Aid Decision” Tab… has anyone recieved this aswell?

Yeah I just saw it today and then 20 minutes later it was taken down.

i’m so anxious lol

Is anyone else freaking out that they’re releasing decisions a week early?

Yeah I’m definitely nervous, mostly because I didn’t get a “Financial Aid Decision” tab when they leaked last night.

Was the tab obvious? Where was it on the page?

It was really obvious; it was green and next to the tab that says “financial aid checklist.”

RIP

Is there any place where the ED applicants stats are posted. Also lol @ the 35% “acceptance rate ED.”

I haven’t found anything, so, if you are willing, can you post your ACT/SAT, GPA stats, maybe a description so, for the next 2 agonizing days, we can revive/kill our hopes of admission?

I will start with some mediocrity: I have a 32 ACT (33 SS- only kind of relevant) 3.75 UW GPA (4.20 weighted). I have pretty good, deep and personal essays. I have relevant achievements in ECs (with friends, began the grassroots-style campaign to get my ex-AP Gov teacher, now Minnesota State Senator, elected into office in 2016. I am the founder of a very large academic-ish club and am the second President of a district-wide tutoring organization a friend of mine started a few years back. these are just a few of the things I do, some other leadership positions and involvements.) They aren’t super ground-breaking in comparison to what the internet has taught me, but I thought I should give some context to the things I have done because I know these types of liberal arts colleges care about your academics but more so the story you have. (My interview, in my opinion, went really well.) This is the tip of the iceberg, but…

for the next 2 days, it would be greatly beneficial to send a short run-down of your situation so we don’t feel quite so dead.

You don’t have to, but (I would like to think that) we are all prospective students with jittery knees, cold and clammy hands, desperately waiting for this damn decision, and these sort of descriptions can feed us grains of hope for the next <50 hours.

Thanks all

I also had a financial aid decision tab pop up. Mine was up for a pretty long time though. Unsure if it was a leak or a mistake.

The financial aid office does financial aid packages for everyone, regardless of admission decision. This leak probably wouldn’t indicate an admissions decision.

@doon68 You sure?

Hi Everyone I am a young Bulgarian boy from sleepy Vratsa. I would very much like to go to Swathmore because I feel like this is the best environment for me to pursue the intersection of Bulgarian studies and Astrophysics. I have heard that there is also a large Bulgarian contingent at Swathmore as well! I’m so excited to go on this journey with you guys and join the Swathmore family. Go Swarthies!

Yeah that’s what my dad said and he worked at a financial aid office before. They can’t possible do all the financial aid decisions after they find out who is accepted because they need to send it with the decisions.

The thing about the mistake two days ago was that when clicking the “financial aid decision” green tab, it started by saying, “Congratulations on your acceptance to the class of 2022…” This makes me kind of anxious cause I did not get the tab. I really hope it was just a mistake and not an indication of admission.

would this be the case even if you didn’t apply for financial aid (I had no clue it was due the same day as the application)
