Swarthmore vs. Wesleyan vs. UChicago

Sorry. Newenglandparent was suggesting that Chicago offers an LAC-like experience. I'm simply saying that, while UChicago may offer many things to many people, it does not offer an undergraduate educational experience like Swarthmore. I gave two examples (housing for barely half its undergrad students and grad student TAs). That's not bashing, it is what it is.

What it is is ignorance. You never went to UChicago, so you don't really know. You look at numbers and statistics and think that tells the story but, in fact, it says nothing of the academic culture. What's next, India and China are just alike because they both have over a billion residents?

when we visited Wes we were very impressed with the diversity, intellectual passion and creativity of the student body. a very comfortable and welcoming community. swat is also intellectual but seemed a bit too intense.

Yeah I think this is the general impression of Wes.

U chicago does have a smaller student body than most of its peer schools and it’s a place with an absolutely illustrious academic tradition.

Swat is quite wonderful itself and is somewhat silimar to U Chicago in its cerebral image/intellectualism.
