Is anyone else trying to get off the waitlist?

I received a call today from the admissions office at Swarthmore and they let me know that I had been awarded a spot in the class of 2018 from the waitlist. I let him know that I had already committed to Bowdoin College and that financial aid would play a big factor. He told me that my FA stuff would arrive ASAP and that I had one week to decide. I am so torn right now…I guess I’ll have to wait and see my financial aid letter.

exciting! best of luck with the decision!!

Hey @jorgom I am also on the waitlist of Swarthmore College. Congratulations for getting a spot in the class of 2018. Can you let me know if you decided to go there ir not? Thankyou

I’m trying to get off the waitlist and so far I just got an email from James Bock. @Waitlisthanger & @jorgom Congratulations! What did you decide? Are you going to Swarthmore?

@Waitlisthanger & @music7
I have decided to go with my original intent and attend Bowdoin College. It was a tough choice but location was really a factor. City vs. Town…wish you guys the best of luck!

@jorgom Congratulations! Bowdoin is a great top LAC! And I know what you mean. Thanks! Good luck at Bowdoin!

Bowdoin is great - but neither Swat nor Bowdoin is in a city… did you mean you wanted to be further from a city?

@xanadu83 I wondered that too. Maybe Bowdoin is in a small city-town, and Swarthmore is in an itty bitty town? Certainly proximity to Philly does not influence Swat in any way other than convenience. I’ve never been to Bowdoin, just going by google maps.

It mattered to me that swat was close to a big city - I didn’t apply to anywhere too far from a city. Brunswick, maine does not count as a city for me. For others, it doesn’t matter.
