i don't know how to do backstroke. All i know is breaststroke and front crawl.

you don't even need to know how to do backstroke. Just float on your back and kick to the other end is fine...

So do we test individually, with everyone watching, or do they just throw all the incoming freshmen into the pool to see which ones survive in the mad struggle for credit?

you go in groups of 8.

There are hundreds of people in the stands waiting for their turn, while watching your half naked body almost drown.

Haha, oh man, that doesn't sound very appealing

At my HS though, we have a swimming requirement. First, 2 lengths of the pool, then 8 lengths of the pool. After being put through that I don't think 3 lengths would be much of a problem.

"while watching your half naked body almost drown..." hahah...sounds like fun fun fun!

Finally wasting two years swimming will pay off!

Approximately how many of the students fail?

what happens to students who have a fear of water? Hmm I can imagine then stare at the pool with shock, then see a teacher throw them into the pool... Must be embarassing for people who are overweight cause if people are looking from the stands, there are going to be girls. wouldnt look that attractive then =/

guys and girls do it seperately.

what if you hit a lane line during backstroke....? oh crap. -__-
