It says on the website that all incoming freshman must either take the test during orientation week, or sign up for beginning swim course. was this always the policy, and did people just ignore it, and took the swim test whenever? Or did the policy change this year, requiring people to do it in their freshman year?

you cant graduate without passing the swim test. its only like 3 laps though i think. if you fail it you have to take some remedial swimming course

i don’t want to take the class, and i have to do the 6-week prefrosh program at cornell this summer, so i don’t think i’ll be able to get enough practice in by orientation week. i just want to delay when i have to take the swim test. i know how to swim, but i haven’t swam for a year or two, so i’m gunna need some practice. i was just wondering if i can delay it without having to take the class.
