We’ve all heard what’s going on- as I said, they have been e-mailing us a lot. And there are signs up all over the place about hand washing. To which I would add some good college advice to avoid getting sick- avoid beer pong and sharing beverages. Not that we do that here… ;)

Not to add to the hysteria, but I just heard from one of my friends who lives in Knott that a guy from his section has swine flu and is in quarantine in St. Liam’s. I know he is not the original student who was found to have swine flu, but I also don’t know if what he has has been confirmed to be swine flu or not. But university health services seems to be reasonably on top of things.

^^ good to hear that they are asking people to leave the dorms, and you feel they are staying on top of things, Shellzie. Such bad timing with finals, tests and projects due.
Not to mention the kids who will be traveling soon, like my son who will be driving alone for the first time from ND to NJ, and the kids who will be boarding airplanes.
Just a bad time.
Where did the original patient live? Knotts?

And, thank you so much for the update.

I don’t think it was Knott. I have heard several rumors about where the original case occurred- a guys dorm on North Quad, Lewis, and BP (though this may be because we WANT it to be BP for Irony’s sake… their mascot is a pig)

Just heard that a freshman St Mary’s girl who returned from Mexico is now quarantined, too.
Wonder how many kids are in St Liams?
One of the dorms has a Pig as a Mascot …ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh

My school is closed until the 13th because two students have swine flu… Last day is the 21st so not only are AP tests all messed up, but finals will be impacted too. The worst part is our athletic events and practices are cancelled as well so I’m missing a week and a half of track my senior season >=(.

i was wondering about ap exams. my school is not closed, but that must be terrible for ap exam schedules, etc.

good luck!
