Do you think it's too late to change my freshman dining plan, now that I've used a few meals? I originally chose plan 4 (least meals, most points), but I now feel like I'll use more meals in the future than allotted for (I can do 3 meals/day if I have breakfast at Barnard). So can this change be done? Any advice is helpful.

After spending one week on campus, and that being orientation, are you sure you have a full grasp of your usual dining habits?

You’re allowed to change your meal plan up to a certain date. You have to fill out a form in either Hartley or Wallach, and it costs $25 (that’s what it used to be) to change plans.

But yeah, are you sure you really want to switch? You can always use your dining dollars for meals later if you need. It’s harder to get rid of lots of extra meals.

Really? so far I eat all my meals at John Jay. And simple math shows that 115 meals is not enough for a semester. Are you sure that that habit will change in the future?

Maybe you’ll be the exception, but for everyone else I know, even the fourth meal plan had too many meals by the end of the semester. I got the third meal plan when I was a freshman (thinking I would eat there almost exclusively) but switched to the fourth in the second semester.

Thanks, I’m pretty sure things will change once class starts. Right now I’m pretty lazy and don’t know many people to eat out with.
