I need advice and thoughts as to whether this is a good idea or not. I'm currently a sophomore at USC who's about to switch into ISE because:
-business is boring (at least the classes i've taken so far)
-ISE might open more doors for me in the future
-ug engineering is generally better for getting an MBA than ug biz

I'm still reluctant, though, for a few reasons:
-Marshall Business is awesome, esp for networking and getting a job
-My GPA might suffer if i pack my remaining schedule with ise classes
-it might close the door for certain finance-related jobs like financial analyst, financ. manager, IB, actuary, etc.

My initial plan was to get a biz-finance degree and become an fin analyst or somthing, but that was before i realized how boring biz classes are...most of my friends think i'm insane for even thinking about walking away from Marshall..are they right?

RESIST THE URGE!!!!!
Remember that intro anything's going to be boring/lots of busywork. :) Good luck!
It's going to be exactly the same with engineering. Intro engineering is also boring

I'm also faced with a similar problem. I'm a first-year at UC Berkeley who was intended business but now am considering industrial engineering. I, like you, want to do business in the future and pursue an MBA. I say follow your heart. Go engineering and take a few business courses while ur at it. You wouldn't wanna end up regretting not taking this academic opportunity.. I mean, you're gonna learn undergrad business in MBA anyways.... Or.. u can be like me and can't let go of either and double major.,
