switching from biomedical engineering

I am a sophomore currently majoring in biomedical engineering. My school has an excellent and rigorous program for it, and I think it's fascinating, but the truth is I'm just not good at it. I can't seem to get the concepts, and my GPA has taken major hits (currently a 2.47)

My university is in the top 40 in the nation, so I hope I'm not arrogant in assuming that as long as I get my GPA to at least a 3.0, I'll be fine after graduation.

I want to be able to go to grad school, but if I stay in this program I highly doubt I'll be able to pull my GPA up in time. Also, who would hire someone with this sort of a GPA? and if my some magic stroke of fate I ended up finding a job, I'll probably end up being bad at it and losing it.

Basically, I'm looking into two other majors: geomechanics/geological engineering, which is still engineering but less demanding and a little slower than the current program I'm in, or Geology.
I know I want to work in the sciences and I'm pretty good at math, but it doesn't look like BME is for me.

I've basically made up my mind, but I would like input from other people. Am I making a huge mistake?

What subjects have you been having trouble with? If it is basic Math and science, it might not get any better with Geological Engineering.

How about Geography if you’re thinking about geology?
