Switching Majors for Grad School?

First of all, is it possible to go to Graduate school for something that you didn't major in as an Undergrad? For example, I'm thinking maybe I want to go to Graduate school for Zoology, but I'm a Biology major. Can this happen or would I have to be a Biology major in graduate school as well?

Thanks.

Hi SillyStokey92,

The answer will depend from one program to another. You should check the specific zoology prgms that you’re interested in and see which undergrad majors they typically look for. this information is usually spelled out on the admission/dept. website.

Having said that, I think a Biology undergrad with enough electives in the zoology area should be fine.

Good luck!

If you satisfy the subject prereqs and have good letters, it’s always possible.

Thanks guys. I’ll look at each program more specifically and see what they suggest.
