Sylvan's Free SATs

Has anyone taken Sylvan up on the offer of a free practice SAT? Our local franchise offers a free test once per month and I'm thinking about having S sit once before his October test.

NB: We are not considering Sylvan for test prep. NOT considering. Son is practicing (almost) every day from the BB.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has done the free practice at Sylvan. The person I spoke to said they use "retired" College Board tests and return scores in about a week. Score reports show success in easy/medium/hard as well as arthimatic v. alegra and sentence errors v. passages, for example.

Anyone have experince with this freebie?
Will it lead to a high-pressure sales pitch?
Are the tests the same as the BB?

Thanks.

100% it will lead to a high pressure sales pitch. Last time I checked, Sylvan is in the business of making money, not throwing it away.

And I’m going to guess your son will do a lot worse on the Sylvan test as well. They want to sell their course to you. IMO, you should just avoid it. Have him keep working out of the BB and go over explanations for his answers.
