My son is also waiting for a decision from the School of Education.
It is so frustrating that this school costs over $70K. I never would have let her apply if Iād known how little aid we would get. The net price calculator was off by $25K. How are families supposed to make informed decisions if the calculators arenāt even close. Sigh.
S19 accepted to Newhouse and Honors Program with $20,000 merit!!! He has very strong stats 36ACT, 3.98UWGPA< sports editor of newspaper, strong essays/reco.
@Art__1018 How do you know how good your rec letters are? We had to send them sealed?
Very discouraging regarding the NPC. I wonder if others have similar experiences.
@greta2000 I know the school is expensive but you should remember when you look up cost of attendance of the school, there are non-specific expenses that are estimates and added in. For example they include personal expenses whatever that is and transportation costs and books. If you just look at tuition, room, board and fees it is lower. The costs for my son year 2018-2019 school year is $65994. His books were usually only a couple of hundred dollars a semester and the fees are different depending on what program (school) the student is in. If you live close enough to drive then the travel expenses are not necessarily accurate. Just trying to remind everyone to take a closer look at the actual costs before freaking out and saying itās $70,000-$75000 a year. There will be a shopping sheet/cost of attendance tab in the financial aid section of myslice. Sometimes the extra expenses are just things you can work into your daily living and are not paid to the school. There is also a list of fees on the website so you know what is required. For example cable/wifi is $220 per semester. Good Luck!
Daughter was accepted to newhouse last night via email.
Would anyone know around when the next batch of decisions are going to be released?
My son got into engineering with NO merit and I am alumni and he showed a huge amount of interest. Very disappointed. Did any engineering admits get the FIRST Robotics Scholarship?? Good luck and congrats to all.
Any Arts & Science? Or more Newhouse? Have not heard yet- Iām thinking itās probably a no. Any idea if there will be another wave
Yes decisions will come out over the next 2 fridays
Accepted engineering $10,000 merit but still very expensive, Virginia Tech might be better.
My son did not receive any email stating the decision made on his application. However, I received an email that was directed towards my son congratulating him on his acceptance. The email also included the visiting dates for accepted students. He logged into his portal and is able to confirm enrollment through the Admission Acceptance form. At this point we believe that he was accepted however we do not know for sure. We also do not know if he received scholarship because he never received an official admission email. Does anyone have any idea about this?
Did anyone hear back as an undecided major in Arts and Sciences??? I hate waiting
maybe call admissions and ask them?? thatās really weird
@jordan4933 thatās super weird! for the people who were accepted, all of the financial aid info is on MySplice now! if you go to the link āmy financial aidā and look at the button that says awards it should tell you if he received a scholarship or not (that is if he was supposed to get an acceptance last night - which is seems like he did)!!
@jordan4933 Make sure to check spam and āpromotionā folders, especially if using gmail.
Did anyone else receive an email about the Maxwell Citizen Scholarship? I donāt have a lot of experience writing policy papers but it seems like a good opportunity. Can I add this scholarship on top of my financial aid or will they subtract it from grants if I got one?
Hmm he tried to click financial aid in my slice but the 2020 button is not blue and will not let him click it. If a fafsa wasnāt filed would this impact it? Or would he still be able to click the button
Will next week have a mix of decisions? No one seemed to get waitlisted or rejected this wave
