What’s your race, where are you from, and do you need financial aid? These can all impact your chance of admission.
American (Although sexual orientation is bi), from connectiuct the moved to new jersey, and yes (as i have 8 kids in my family and one going through college.) @cababe97
Will you need financial aid? This can affect chances of admission significantly because there is limited aid that schools can give.
OP answered it, albeit obliquely: “yes (as i have 8 kids in my family and one going through college.)”
Not a hook, just so you know.
@skieurope The question had multiple parts, and obliquely isn’t a word that should be used in this case. I also do not find it amusing that you find the need to coment it is not a hook to share my sexual orientation with the world.
@cababe97 I will, but I feel as if I do have more of an advantage with my family size and parental situation.
@ccuser1212 I’m not sure why you’re getting upset at @skieurope. You’re the one who brought up sexual orientation. Cababe asked you your race, and you replied American and then added your orientation as if that would make a difference. Being an underrepresented minority (i.e. race or ethnicity) can be a hook. Sexual orientation is not.
Needing significant amounts of financial aid can make admissions more difficult.
Then feel free to directly answer the questions that are being asked of you. The users here are just trying to assist you, and their questions are seeking further info to help them assist you.
FWIW, although English is not my native language, I did use the word correctly, at least so far as my perception of your answer.

Ummm. That was you, but OK.
@skieurope I just find it rather difficult that a simple conversation turned into an interrogation. I have recieved your advice, but politely wou.
@dramakid2 I am not upset. I have found it more helpful to go to my parents/parents colleagues/guidance office with questions in regard to the boarding school process. Thank you for the tips, although that was not as helpful:).
Based on your grades and ECs, you have a great shot at getting in. Your SSAT score is also good for the schools you are aiming to apply for. I wish you good luck!
