TA'ing as an undergrad

Anyone do it yet? I've looked at everything on CET, and it's something I'd sign up for if I transfer.

Next semester (at Tulane) I'm taking a few education courses (specifically, Writing Pedagogy 406 and Education in Diverse Societies 200), but TA positions are only for graduate students. The courses I'll be taking mainly focus on learning theory, but we're also teaching/tutoring at local New Orleans schools (it's a shame, the early failure rate is about 50% for high schools, but some go upwards of 80%...).

Los Angeles's passing rate is only 44%...

Anyway, I think that TA'ing could be a good way of becoming immersed in the USC scene (at least academics-wise).

All of my TAs so far have been 2nd or 3rd year graduate students.

I'm not sure that it is possible to TA as an undergrad. What you can do is teach SI lessons, if you are in science or math. Supplemental Instruction is sort of like extra tutoring for students in difficult intro classes (Bio, Chem, Calc, Physics etc.). You attend the classes and then teach review sessions every week. First, however, you have to perform very well in the original classes.

Well, actually the website calls undergrads "Undergrad Fellows" so I guess that's prep to be a future TA. I looked them up on facebook and there's like five people in that group...
