I am currently a junior at a sub-rural high school and am taking the following classes:
Honors Modern World History
Honors Physics
Spanish 3
Honors Trig/Pre Calc
AP Gov.
Health/Gym
Honors English
Next year I would like to take a lot of easier classes, but I am wondering what effect that would have on my chances at Penn State?
My GPA is good for them as it stands and I have my SAT under control. I curious as to if they look at your grades and classes you take as a senior, even if I send in an application before the end of September.
I would like for my senior schedule to look like this sort of:
AP Psychology
AP English
Statistics
Accounting
Sociology/ prin. of Society
And maybe Spanish
Any info would be greatly appreciated especially if it pertained to PSU admissions. Thank you
Regardless of any school you’re applying too, some of the best advice I have been given is to not slack the final stretch of the race. Go for the hardest schedule you possibly can, but one you still feel comfortable with. I have a friend who wants to apply to PSU and she wants to take it easy. They accept about 54% of applicants, but you have to remember the competitiveness of a pool of people. I believe (someone correct me if I’m wrong), that they will see senior grades because they’re going to have to see semester or trimester grades. Push yourself and stay motivated! Great opportunities and success will come to you if you do so! Best of luck!
I would recommend taking at least one more AP/ honors class so it does not look like you’re slacking off too much
I would take AP calc and the rest all easy regular classes
