Taking premed courses as pass/fail

@WayOutWestMom wait so what grade does AMCAS assign for pass/fail? Does AMCAS factor any AP and Dual enrollment grades into their recalculated gpa?

Read it for yourself here: https://aamc-orange.global.ssl.fastly.net/production/media/filer_public/33/f0/33f0bd3f-9721-43cb-82a2-99332bbda78e/2018_amcas_applicant_guide_web-tags.pdf

@WayOutWestMom Don’t answer my last question. Why would you assume that I have any intentions of falsifying a transcript. That has nothing to do with the post. Even if you are relaying something that AMCAS, why are you directing it at me?

This is correct. The users who have posted all have experience on the topic, and most have posted the sources. Please do not waste time arguing the information, especially if you are not the OP. If the OP, or anyone else, needs further clarity or wants to challenge the info here, the pre-health advisor at the college or the admissions office at the med school, can assist. However, this forum is not a debate society.

At Brown, where we have the opportunity to take all our classes pass/fail, we are specifically told NOT to take pre-med pre reqs pass/fail.

It would absolutely be a red flag at my med school.
