I'm taking Spanish in high school and really love it. I grew up in China and now take Mandarin classes outside of school. Ideally, I'd love to take both languages all four years of college. Is this realistic? Do most colleges even let you take +1 languages? (I don't plan on being an actual linguistics or language major)

I once took beginning Chinese and intermediate Japanese at the same time, and I did fine without confusing the two languages. Then again, I’m rather adept at learning languages, and it helped that I grew up in a bilingual environment (where I’m exposed to my family’s native language at home and English outside the home). Yes, a lot of colleges will let you take 1+ languages.
