TAMU Academic Admit

Texan homeschooler here. Just got my recent SAT tests back (1390 / 2100), which puts me quite safely in auto admit territory (if I understand correctly). I intend to submit my app this weekend and priority mail all other information Monday morning.

My questions, however:

1) Is it too late? Has the College of Liberal Arts already filled up? If not, when does it usually fill up? (B.S. Econ)
2) If it has already filled up, what will happen?
3) Does anyone have any insights about transferring dual credit core classes from a comm coll to TAMU?
4) Is there literally any way I could be declined/forced to BLINN(or other non-full-admit options) with my 1300+ academic admit?

Hi I homeschooled two kids who were auto admitted into TAMU. One for Fall 2014. First had SAT (1400/2030). Second had SAT (1460/2140).

So you should be fine provided you have a good transcript that shows you met the Recommended High School Program. [College For All Texans: Recommended High School Program](<a href=“College For All Texans: Home”>College For All Texans: Home)

Liberal Arts should not be full, yet. It is a very big school.

Not sure about the dual credit. For a math major the math department would not take comm college Calculus but would take comm college English. So I think which courses will transfer and give you credit depends a lot on your major.

Good luck.

Ok, but so long as my classes show up on course equivalency chart on TAMU website, and the equivalency applies to my degree plan, they should xfer right?

Sorry, I really do not know. You should call the department for your major to see what transfers. All I know is the math department would not take comm college math but would take comm college english.

They will count the comm college courses towards your high school curriculum. So if you took economics at a comm college it may not count towards your Econ degree but will count as a social science for your high school degree.

yeah that’s what I don’t want, going for the MPIA in 4 years.

thanks though, e-mailed them

Awesome, they will transfer.

Question though, is there any reason to write essay C as academic admit?

Essays get submitted for scholarship consideration as well as admissions.

:) Congratulations.

Like AGmomx2 said, essay C is used for scholarships. Best to write it.
