TAMU Class of 2023 - Engineering Admission Decisions

@trinley well at least between blinn bryan and blinn brenham

@sma1234 you can’t apply directly to Bryan. It has to be offered through A&M. Its the Blinn Team equivalent for engineering.

@trinley Oh ok. Fingers crossed for full admit to cstat or blinn bryan then.

@Sybylla - he is in state for CSM, so the 9K is def a help and between that and has other scholarship resources too so dropping it into the 20s is doable - not as doable as a texas school, but is also awaiting a full ride decision elsewhere; it’s just nice to know he won’t be selling lemonade next year. LOL!

got offered Galveston, Mcallen, and TEAB this morning finally

My son got offered Blinn Bryan engineering, Galveston or McAllen this morning! Review admit.

Anyone still waiting? Also, are there singular offers such as just BLINN?

Three tabs, banner on howdy states the same deferred to Jan. Tamu placed him in 1st quarter. NOTHING

2Q, but great SAT (for tamu standards), but still nothing

What is the better choice out of Blinn, Galv, or McAllen? If you perform well the first year, is it considered an easy transfer into College Station?

Decisions are coming out today that include the options of Galveston and the Engineering Academies at Blinn/Bryan and McAllen.

Here is the thread for Engineering at Galveston http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/texas-m-university/2123914-class-of-2023-tamu-engineering-at-galveston.html#latest

Here is the Web Page for Engineering at Galveston Be sure to explore all of the links for complete information https://engineering.tamu.edu/admissions-and-aid/engineering-at-galveston/index.html

Here is the Web Page for the Engineering Academy at Blinn Bryan. Be sure to explore all of the links for complete information http://www.blinn.edu/engineering-academy-bryan/index.html

Here is a thread on the engineering academies in addition to the info found on the engineering admissions thread http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/texas-m-university/2062343-engineering-academies-p1.html

Here is the A&M Web Page for the Engineering Academy at Blinn/Bryan. Be sure to explore all of the links for complete information https://engineering.tamu.edu/academics/academies/blinn-bryan/index.html

The link I had for the Engineering Academy at McAllen is no longer working. It is the same premise as Blinn/Bryan and you will Apply To A Major the same as you would if at Galveston, Blinn Bryan or College Station. Here are a few links

The Engineering Academy at Blinn Bryan is an admission decision offered by A&M. You do not get to apply to it directly. The Engineering Academy at McAllen is an admission decision offered by A&M as well as you can apply to it directly.
The Engineering Academy at Blinn Bremham is NOT an admission decision offered by A&M and must be applied to directly.
All other Engineering Academies partnered with Texas A&M with various Community College districts, must be applied to directly.

It appears that decisions that contain options are going out. Yes, in the past there have been options for Blinn Bryan Academy only, McAllen Academy only and Galveston only.

@Thelma2 Are there waves throughout the day or just the morning one?

ya boy got into galvy mcallen and blinn bryan yaaaaaaa

@dddddddddddd what were your stats?

Congrats @dddddddddddd

@JhaveyJ Yes, easy transition assuming you meet the required GPA. But only a 3.5 will guarantee you your first choice major in engineering. If not 3.5, you’ll apply and put down top 3 choices. This goes for ALL freshman engineering student who are qualified to apply for ETAM (entry into a Major) regardless of what campus they attend as a freshman.

Hope this clarifies it for ya.

If you receive the alternative pathway options (Blinn/Bryan, Galveston, and McAllen) do not just look at the tabs. You will continue to have 3 tabs until you pick and are accepted. You have to check AIS to see if you have the options.

My child was offered an academy option today. (1Q, 1330 SAT, Review admit. Applied in August). We chose TEAB but now it says bering considered for Engineering Academy at Blinn-Bryan. I’m aware of it being a first come, first served basis. However, I’m not sure when we’ll know we’ll definitely be there vs Galveston or McAllen. So I guess some more waiting. (Definitely better than no option). We’re relieved.

@AggieMomhelp

Alright, thank you! Do you know if these 3 options have a decent campus life for freshmen year, or are they more like community colleges?

@rdhdstpchld

@Sybylla - he is in state for CSM, <<<<<<<<<<

OH, sorry about that, so that 9k is FA vs merit? Some kind of non listed scholarship?
The auto merit listed at 9k is an OOS award.
9k off instate at CSM is indeed a complete bargain and cheaper than TAMU.
Are your instate residency status issues complicated? I see you have issues with UT, will that apply to TAMU?
