I started this thread because yesterday I was watching this TV show where the character drinks a cup of water from the sink. I was like ***, do people actually do that?

I don’t even drink fountain water from my school.

I don’t even drink fountain water from my school.

Haha, well I wouldn’t drink from a fountain at my old high school either. That’s not because the water is necessarily bad though, it’s just because people stick their gum on it, which is repulsive to me.

Yes, that’s gross. What is the point of sticking gum in the water fountain?

And frankly, I’m still holding on to resentment from that kid we elected as “class president” in the third grade who said he’d put soda fountains in all the hallways. Where the **** is my soda fountain?

I didn’t have a class president in elementary school or middle school.

Haha, I guess a lot of people don’t realize some companies will just take tap water, filter it minimally or not at all, and bottle it, then sell it for 100 times what it’s worth.

Yes, but we’re talking about me and my very fond childhood memories of broken promises.

It was a mock election, held one fine afternoon. Our elected presidente received all types of special treatment.
He got to pass out papers to the class. And hold the door open. And clean the chalk board. And gossip with the teacher. And gained entry into…the teacher’s lounge.

And I still have no soda fountain or all day recess and Batman never came to autograph my shoes.

I know you didn’t say that. That doesn’t make your viewpoint anymore rational (actually less so IMO). I mean I could do nasty things with a wide range of objects. But should that “disturb” me and make me not use it for other purposes? Hey, water is often used to fight fire! Maybe I should be scared that tap water will make me spontaneously combust!

I’ve seen 400 gallons of water for $2. > 3000 bottles worth

Using water to fight fire? You’re exaggerating in that sense :l I’m sure I’m not the only one that is disgusted by drinking tap water. And if this psychological reasoning is ‘irrational’ to you, then so be it :)

And 400 gallons of water for 2 bucks? Were they in bottles? My point exactly.

I don’t know about you guys but my tap water is fine. People on wells probably have dirtier water.

But yeah I drink a bunch of water. It’s healthy and quenches my thirst. Drinking a ton of water is probably one of the easiest ways to stay in shape. It speeds up your metabolism and helps you lose fat. It’s also a necessity for your body. Drinking other stuff provides unnecessary calories. Pretty much all I drink is a bunch of water, fruit juices, and milk. Soda is awful for you.

I think it would be intriguing if we did an experiment on this. We could take a glass of tap water and take a glass of bottled water and give them to a few people without telling them the origin of the water. I wonder if they could identify the difference between the two.

Some types of bottled water are just filtered tap water. Like Aquafina and Dasani. Deer Park is spring water though.

BTW, that brings up something. Where you live, what is the primary bottled spring water? I’ve noticed it is regional. Basically it’s Deer Park in my area. But it is certainly regional.

After 5 seconds of back breaking labor - yes.

Poland Springs here.

Warts, do it yourself and tell us the outcome. :)

Lol, maybe I will.

I know that some people will solely drink a specific type of water and I can’t comprehend the reasoning behind it. From my experience, there isn’t much of a difference between the various types of water brands and tap water itself.

Canadian Tap Water FTW!
US water tastes like swimming pools

I think the real question is whether there’s a difference in taste between unfiltered tap water, and filtered tap water. I’ll go home and try it. Actually no I won’t. I’ll leave this important task up to the warts.

I was under the impression that all water distributed to American homes was filtered to a certain extent, but perhaps that isn’t true?

Stop embarrassing yourself.

As for well water, I find it varies a lot regionally, but I really do enjoy the taste of certain minerals. I don’t really like reverse osmosis water; it’s too bland.

But if you guys really care about water purity, you wouldn’t drink anything but NanoPure water, the stuff they use for scientific research. Just sayin’.
