Hey does anyone know the percentage of classes that professors teach as opposed to TA (teacher assistants)? The number was said during my information session but I forgot. For some reason the numbers 80% and 95% are in my head. CAn anyone clear this up?

I've never had a TA teach a class directly. In recitations, it's sometimes TA only. Lectures themselves are professor only though.

do you know anything about the percentage of classes that are taught by TAs?

The only classes that are taught by TAs are some writing courses and some language courses.

There are recitations (smaller discussion groups that meet once a week to go over material from big lecture classes) that are led by TAs, but they do not teach the class, they merely go over the material the professor already covered in lecture.

It's a very small percentage in total, but I don't really have any clue what it is.

The above is true.
