Tasp

Firstly, how selective exactly is the process? I've read it's just as, if not more, competitive than Ivy League, but how difficult really is it to get in?

Secondly, what are the essay prompts like? Are they general and broad, or specific and honed in like say for a college app essay that has you describe a situation in your life? Please provide me with some examples from previous TASP application materials if you can.

Former TASPer right here :)

How selective is it? It’s pretty selective(5% acceptance rate), that’s as far as I would go. Selectivity shouldn’t prevent you from applying because I don’t see it the same way as “competitiveness.” You don’t necessarily “compete” with other applicants. The readers of your application really CARE about you as person so each individual is different. In no way can you be better or worse than another person when it comes to TASP application. They do a really good job as those who are truly interested in learning. Your academic background wouldn’t necessarily place you in a better or worse situation as they evaluate on an individual basis…
That being said, some essays are indeed more interesting than others. You can find past essay prompts on TASP’s website and they barely change each year. They are very broad, and as I said before, I really think these broad prompts allow to choose any aspect of your interest and be creative and just run with it  Feel free to ask more questions.

Would you guys say that T.A.S.P. looks at your SAT score?

I got a 2170

Ummmm. NO.
