<p>I believe you have to get it cleared through your chain and even write an Essay on why you want to get it. Also it can't cover more than 25% of the exposed body part. I got a tattoo right after basic training, over my heart. I tried to keep it a secret but I was too proud, its not like permanent party can say "hey get that removed!" ex post facto.... I wouldn't reccommend getting it on an exposed body part though. It draws attention, plus my personal opinion is officers shouldn't have real blatant tattoos on their hands, arms, neck etc. but that last part is just MHO.</p>
