Taxes help!

okay i need the 1098-T form that the school is suppose to give you electronically but, I'm getting this message:

The College is required to only issue a 1098T form based on certain factors determined by the IRS. We have not issued you a 1098T form based on one or more of the following circumstances:
-The amount of the qualified tuition payments made by you or on your behalf may not have exceeded the total amount of scholarship and grants available to you within the reporting calendar year.
-You were not enrolled in at least six credit hours for at least one term within the reporting year. Credits must be of a specific type (certain non-credit classes do not qualify and will not be included in the six credit hour calculation). This is known as "qualifying terms".
-Adjustments to prior year payments made within the reporting calendar year resulted in a reduction of the credit amount that could be claimed.

but last semester i was enrolled in 13 credit hours and the same this semester. can anyone explain what they mean by the first reason, i paid my classes with my grant and used my book advance to buy my book the money that was left over i got sent by check. so why can't i get the form?

please help!

call the financial aid office of the school and talk to a person

The first reason seems to be the reason you didn’t get a 1098T. Your grants exceeded qualified education expenses(QEE) billed by your school. In that case the school isn’t required to provide a 1098T. Look at your bills from 2012 and verify if that is the case. Room and board aren’t included in QEE, only tuition, mandatory fees and required books and supplies. Usually the school doesn’t bill directly for books and supplies.

Do you want the 1098T for claiming a tax credit or to report taxable scholarships/grants? You’re going to need to use actual bills/account statements from the school and receipts/account statements/cancelled checks etc. to figure QEE, expenses you paid and taxable grant amount if any.
