Taylor University or Charleston Southern University

Hi,
My son has been accepted at both of these schools, they are small Christian colleges. He wants to major in computer science. Taylor is more expensive (at the top reach of our affordability), v. Charleston, where it would be much more affordable. Taylor seems better academically and socially… But he’d probably do fine wherever he ends up. Both are @ 10 hours from our home. He’s also accepted at Cedarville University and Palm Beach Atlantic University. Both of those schools are about the same cost, in the middle between Taylor and Charleston Southern. Cedarville has better computer science but is stricter. PBA is nice but far, with a very small major. Any advice?

Wow, my work colleague went to Cedarville, which is supposed to be quite good academically, but (you won’t want to hear this) my workmate has long since drifted from the fold, so looking back she was not enthused with the overall social scene. But for a person of faith, it seems like a solid choice for academics. I have heard of Taylor, and for a non-religious person like me, that might mean something. I’m originally from Chicago, and I do know that lots of kids aim for Wheaton or Calvin (top choices) and often include Taylor in the mix. I know zilch about Charleston Southern or Palm Beach Atlantic.
