I have requested two teacher recommendations through the common application (entered their information and email addresses) one of them emailed me because she hasn't received an email with the invitation yet. It has been over 2 weeks since I invited the teachers.

I've submitted an error report but I'm wondering if there's something else I should be doing. Do I have to get the link myself from somewhere or...?
Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions to this problem?

Thanks in advance!

There is an option to resend. Confirm that you entered the right e-mail address. Otherwise, give the teacher the paper form, addressed stamped envelopes, etc.

My son had the same problem— it turns out the school district email system was blocking the emails from common app and putting them in the spam folder. DS tried to get it fixed by talking to the teachers, the GC and finally the principal but no luck. Finally after 3 weeks my husband called the tech support guy for the school system and he fixed it.

So you might want to check and see if other students are having the same problem.
Our GC claimed that DS was the first student in the school to try to request the recommendations-- hard to believe. More likely others were having the same problem but didn’t check to see if it was working

If others have the same problem find out who the tech support person is for your school district Good luck!

We had an issue as well - the teacher received the email and thought he was submitting the recommendation, but due to technical problems it wasn’t actually submitting. We had to enlist the help of the school district’s IT staff to get it to work.

Thanks everyone that replied… turns out it was the school system blocking the emails. I talked to the teachers and they figured it out :)
