Teacher Rec section vs. Other Rec section?

<p>I would like to include a recommendation from my research mentor but there are some schools that only have a Teacher recommendation section and no Other recommendation section. In the Teacher section though, you can change the "recommender type" of each individual recommender to "other." So my question is, are we allowed to include mentors in the Teacher recommendation section as long as we change their recommender type? Or can we only include them in an Other recommendation section?</p>

<p>I’m wondering about this too, but I assumed that the teacher rec. section was only for teachers, and that colleges that don’t have the other recommenders section don’t want recommendations from people other than teachers.</p>
