I'm a current junior, and I'm applying to Michigan State's High School Honors Science Program. I was wondering, when asking teachers for recs, seeing as I'm going to be a senior applying to colleges next year, will it be annoying having to ask teachers twice (for this program and for college apps next year)? Thanks for any input! :)

Annoying for you or the teacher? No one here can read your mind, or read your teachers’ minds, or predict the future … as college is completely different from a summer program, the recs will obviously be different as well, so you’ll have to ask them twice (or ask different teachers). It’s not a big deal because they do that all the time for students anyway.

For the teachers. I know I want to use my Physics teacher for a college rec letter, but I think I should ask her for HSHSP too (you need one from a science teacher).

If she’s willing to write one now, then ask her now. Worry about later recs, well, later.

Good advice
