I was wondering which class fills up quicker: math 1B or chem 1a?
basically which one should i do during phase I...?

I’ve heard that lab classes cause more of a problem in phase II than math classes do, so you should probably phase 1 Chem 1A. Also, a lot of students that start in math 1b will probably find that it is too difficult for them and will drop to math 1a, thereby opening up space in 1b later on. But I’m just an incoming freshman so feel free to ignore my advice.

I agree. You could phase I both, depending on what else you take. If not, do chem - math shouldn’t be too big of a problem.

i have another class for phase I already that I’m pretty sure on.

does anyone else have any input?

and thanks to everyone that responded.

chem1A supposedly fills up really quick
if you check online adn see that all the classes are empty, that’s because it’s a freshmen course. This info is coming from a friend of my who is currently a 2nd year at cal

chem 1a most definitely.
there are a good handful of people who drop from math 1b to math 1a at the beginning of the semester. so there will definitely be spaces.

Chem 1A b/c you have to pick the labs.

Just picture how much it would set you back if you couldn’t take Chem your first semester. Compared that with if you didn’t get Math. I’m sure the importance of chem outweighs math by a lot.
