From what all i've heard about Swarthmore, it sounds great...but that's mostly all from their website and various college search books...what about from the students? How would you describe Swarthmore to someone who knows quite little about it? Good/bad things? What are the students like? And since i won't be able to visit before i apply, is there anything important i should know?

There are quite a few threads on this issue if you just skim through this forum.

check the swat vs haverford, theres some stuff in there

Go through old threads, and then ask specific questions if you have any.

To get a "feel" for the school you can read the student paper (Phoenix), visit and read Swarthmore LiveJournal community, etc. (That would apply to any school you are interested in, not just Swarthmore)

from when i visited. it's pretty intense academically, but the people there are really cool and there's ample time to unwind. It's pretty small, really small, but I didn't really feel the small size when I was there.
The campus is really pretty, and philly is close enough if you ever feel constrained by the size. The classes I visited were pretty awesome.

i would probably describe it as geeky fun.
