I am a junior in high school looking for schools to apply to next year. So far I’ve seen how academically strong U Chicago is and that it has a good program in Chemisty, my intended major as of now. What is the culture like at U Chicago? How tight knit is the community? How “nerdy” are the students (I’m a huge book nerd)? Basically just sell me the college.
Would I fit into U Chicago? I’m not a nerd in the more derogetory sense of the word but I, as an INTJ, dislike irrelevant talk, parties, etc. I just don’t find them fun or worth my time. I do love meaningful conversations about basically anything. Also anyone know anything about the Cross Country team?
What does this mean?
I can see how that sounds bad, I probably worded that wrong. I don’t really like small talk, for example, about the weather, tv show, etc. If you want to talk about the moral implications of the TV show or why the weather is changing I’m all for it. More intellectual conversations
Sounds like a pretty good fit. My INTJ liked a lot of things about UChicago. It is really intense academically, so you will want to think about that. Visit if you can.
Thanks, I hope to visit some time but we don’t have much money to do so. It might be that I visit if I get accepted next year.
Funny that you mention irrelevant talk. My oldest is there now and one of the things he regularly brings up is that it’s so refreshing to never have mindless conversations with people.
