Tell me somethin' good . . .

Great timing & great results on that biopsy.

Started a new job last week…like my boss, work, and the new work laptop. Happy Thanksgiving.

The biopsy was done a week ago Monday. The doctor told me the results would be back in a week and they would call me, either way. We were on the road Monday and Tuesday, getting my D from college. So I called Wednesday afternoon and found out the good news. The nurse said the results had come in the day before. Hmm, I could tell that no one had called from their office! I think I will complain to their office manager. Don’t they understand that people are waiting on pins and needles?

Auburn beat Alabama! (good for my dad but maybe not good for some of you…)

A good friend’s daughter will be house- and dog-sitting for us over Christmas. This frees us up to go stay with one son and his GF, while the other son drives to be with us. Thank goodness!!

Had a great one week visit with S. Also was able to buy LOTS of Christmas gifts and prepared 6 boxes and mailed them with HI edibles! One box is belated gift for D and the others are holiday gifts for friends.

I got a random invitation from my son to meet him for dinner this evening. His school is an hour away, but a friend needed a ride that brought him about 1/2 the distance home so he asked us to meet him. We had a nice visit. Happy mama moment.

I finally came to a long desired decision tonight. This is a new beginning for me.
I lost but that seems ok now.

I got a new dishwasher. I put in the dishes without rinsing. They came out clean!

^^ it’s the little things!

Watching my grandson’s Middle School Christmas (Holiday) Concert. We are over 1000 miles away, but it’s being streamed live. I love technology. They don’t seem so far away.

Although this happened last year, I just read about it—9000 people had nearly $15M in medical debt forgiven by John Oliver for $60,000, tax free.

My kid just got into one of her top choice law schools, and I like my new job.

Today, we went out for brunch. Asked the waitress if they had any specials and she said, “Yes, if you order fajitas (which co-incidentally I was planning to get), you get free molten chocolate cake ala mode for dessert.” Boy, did we enjoy that meal–shared some of my cake with H who had a half-order of ribs for his brunch.

It made my day, plus Ross had conveniently located and reasonably-priced wrapping paper and tissue paper, saving me a trip to Costco for these necessities.

I went to a neighbor’s Christmas party by myself. I wasn’t enthusiastic about going, worried I wouldn’t know anyone and that it would be awkward. I told myself I’d stay for an hour.

The walk over was beautiful. The night was crisp and clear and many people had lights up. When I arrived, I discovered I knew many of the other guests. The host had invited all her “mommy friends” that she didn’t see anymore since her kids had graduated from high school.

I had a ball! I stayed almost four hours, caught up with old friends, and met new people. The party was still going strong when I left.

My dog let me sleep in until 6:15am this morning!

D was accepted into another MBA program . This one was one she didn’t think she would get into. And they offered her money!

Younger son wasn’t sure if his new position was going to give him time off for Christmas, but he’ll get four full days. We’ll take it! Older son is coming for three weeks which just might be too much of a good thing.

My dad decided to go golfing and to golf dinner tomorrow so urged H to invite his buddy to join us for dinner and theater since dad won’t be joining us and mom. The best friend is coming and it’s “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” so should be a cheery show.

This friend needs a bit of cheer since his wife has been trapped in her body and on a feeding tube for over 5 years and counting.

Thanks to my US Senator! She sent me a lovely color photo of us visiting her in DC as well as a great calendar for 2018–I needed one. It has great photos if DC in it!

Thanks to her for also speaking out on behalf of #metoo and women’s rights! She is a personal friend and champion.
