Tell me somethin' good . . .

I went to a really, really good museum opening last night. The focus is street art, and it was wonderful.

My baby is coming home for Thanksgiving!!!

^ It’s always good when the kids come home

Picking up S at the airport soon!

OP, did you get this idea from Ryan Seacrest’s radio program? I just heard this today on XM radio out of LA, California. I thought it was a great idea.

Went out with old friends, known from elementary school, for lunch today. We all travel hours to meet in a central location. Also went out to dinner with H and S tonight. In each case we were celebrating my 64th birthday… So blessed.

@dragonmom Fun fun fun! I love coming here and seeing excited parents.

Yippee! Bought my replacement jacket today as well as two heat-tech lined hats (one for each kid). I only had to pay a grand total of $26 and will be getting 5% back from ebates on the $232 order! The kids will be surprised by the hats and I know S was impressed by how nice and warm my (same) hat was when I loaned it to him in DC when we were walking in the cold outdoors there. I’m always happy to have something to get S & D that they don’t already have that I think they will like. The replacement jacket will have 20% more fill in it than the former jacket so keep me nice & toasty!

S us home with us! We stopped for early dinner at a Hawaiian food place and he’s relaxing in his own bed.

The brain is fascinating. My youngest kid did vision therapy that included metronome work a few years ago to try to address problems with school work. She made improvements in getting work done faster and more legibly but, surprisingly, also in organizing her spaces and even personal hygiene. This school year she started piano where there is also an emphasis on beat and timing with the visual and motor component. She practices a lot and seems very good at it in a short time. Meanwhile, since lessons started, she has become a cleaning and organizing guru. It’s so interesting. Now it’s not only her own stuff but our public areas and bathrooms, and she cleans grandma’s house, too.

@MACmiracle Can your D come to my house for a weekend?

But seriously, I’m glad the therapy helped her in so many ways.

D2 is here and I have the whole week to spend with her. So far we’ve been for a walk in the Arboretum, out to dinner, to the Boeing factory tour, watched 4 episodes of Stranger Things, searched for the best donut in Seattle, and hung out in a coffee shop with books. Volunteering together at a food bank tomorrow. So happy to have her here!

My mom’s been a little down lately. Her ex (my dad) died last week and most of her other family seemed to forget about her birthday.

To cheer her up one of my girls wrote a Thanksgiving letter of appreciation and another wrote her a poem telling her how wonderful she is. We went out tonight to get a frame for the poem, so now it is framed and in a wrapped box waiting to be opened by Grandma on Thanksgiving Day.

It’s tough when loved ones die near holidays, even if they are an “ex” and not a current spouse. I’m glad that your kids are trying to cheer her, @MACmiracle

DS is safely home … my heart overflows. <3 Happy Thanksgiving!

Just went on a nice weekend trip with S17 who is home for the week to New Orleans. It was fun. Today we had lunch together and then tomorrow go to Thanksgiving with family!

Just made a (surprisingly, very easy!) airport run to drop off DS and DIL who are headed cross country to spend T’giving with DD and SIL. It warms this mother’s heart.

And now DD2 is here, asleep in the next room!

D3 made her flight and made it home! Yay! We celebrated Thanksgiving today since D1 has to work tomorrow and all went well (even though the grill thermometer was on the fritz). I did too much and I’m bone tired. It will be sooooo nice to sleep late tomorrow and eat leftovers all day. And pie!

My biopsy results are back - it is benign.

^^^^^ Just in time for a Happy Thanksgiving!! Congratulations, @MaineLonghorn!!!
