So 3 days after my admission decision I get the official letter. Since I’m out of state and in fox business, it costs $49,000, and all they give me is 5,000 merit ?? Are they serious??? I would never pay more than 40 for temple when others pay 28 in state. Bye temple!
I totally understand how you feel. Even though my son got a decent amount ($18,000), 0.1 GPA point was the difference between getting full tuition. Our school does not do weighted GPA and we feel they didn’t take academic rigor into account. So bye bye Temple it is for us too. DS has other full tuition scholarships to choose from, so we are moving on.
@DCdenizen check the acceptance letter! My scholarship was in there
I applied 10/30 Temple Option and two days ago my portal changed to “All required documents have been received by our office and your application is complete and awaiting a decision! During peak admissions period it may take more than 8 weeks for a decision to be made on your application.” What does this mean?? Before it said that my application was “incomplete” because my temple option essays weren’t reviewed, so I’m guessing now they are reviewed but my application as a whole hasnt been. Im hoping that it really doesnt take 8 weeks and hopefully I will hear back before Christmas. Does anyone else see this message??
Not that message, but my D applied about 11 weeks ago with no decision (not the temple option though).
@mimo12 My daughter applied Temple option on 9/23, and it took until 10/26 for her essays to be reviewed. So I am assuming she’ll have an answer around 8 weeks from 10/26 :-w
I was accepted for Media Studies and Communication with a $9,000 annual scholarship.
I applied EA on 10/30 and received saw my acceptance on my portal on 11/9. I am OOS, applied undecided to the College of Liberal Arts, and submitted my test scores.
What I don’t understand is that I applied early action so they usually say that they finish out all early action applications by the time they close for winter break. Last day of finals is the 19th I think this year. So the “8 weeks” would take my date way passed the 19th.
@mimo12 I haven’t heard much about the specific Temple deadlines for admission decisions, but everyone that I’ve talked to who has applied EA with the temple option has not yet heard back either, so I would not worry. I’m guessing that the admissions office looks over applications with test scores first to give out merit scholarships (since they’re based on GPAs and test scores), but I’m assuming people who applied without scores will start hearing back soon since break and the 8 week deadline is approaching.
@My3Daughters Does your daughters portal say the same message?
@mimo12 Yes, it does say the same message.
