Tentative fall schedules

School: Lewis and Clark
Major: Chemistry
Year: Sophomore

Intro to Ecology
MWF 9:10-10:10, lab time yet to be determined (technically I’m on the waitlist, but the professor says I can have a spot if I’m willing to be in whichever lab section is underenrolled in the fall)

Structural Biochemistry
MWF 10:20-11:20

Intro to Physics (for non-physics science majors)
MWThF 11:30-12:30, lab W 2:20-4:20

Acting 1
TTh 9:40-11:10

Kind of an easy schedule (18 credits with three 100 levels and a 300 level), but my GPA slipped last semester due to family issues and getting the flu during finals so I want to pull it back up. Also I’m hoping to either act or assistant stage manage a play in the fall, and/or possibly do an independent research study with a chem professor, so I gotta keep things somewhat open. Or I might add a PE class.

Freshman Electrical Engineering/Computer Science.

As you can see, it is a busy schedule. That is 19 credits for my first semester in college. I am not too worried about my schedule as it is only 15 credits of academic classes. The rest are LLC related and extra curricular classes.

LLC is the Living, Learning Community program at New Mexico Tech. It is a program where freshmen live and learn together; it should help me focus and keep on task. As my high school grades have shown, I’ve had struggled with being diligent in school. Joining LLC was the only way to guarantee my spot in the dorms as NMT is having a housing crisis.

Physics 221 is Comprehensive Physics; it goes over vibrations, waves, optics from a modern perspective. It is equivalent to Physics III in most schools.

CSE 113 is Introduction to Computer Science; it is part of the LLC curriculum. The class is taught in C and I really should not be in this class, but it is mandatory for LLC. As long as I do my work, it should be an easy A.

Math 132 is Integral Calculus; it should be rather straight forward. I see no reason why I should not do very well in this class.

EE 101 is Introduction to Electrical Engineering; I am not worried about this class either.

Hand Built Ceramics should be fun and the rest of the classes are LLC specific classes. My LLC group is making an Android app and that should be fun.

I think this year will be a great year. My schedule leaves room to workout and study. I won’t have to wake up till 7; which gives me time to wash up and eat breakfast at ease. I look forward to eating at Chartwells; I’ve heard stories.

Public Policy- Mon, Tues (8-9a)
Environmental Physics Lecture- Mon, Wed, Fri (10-11a)

15 total credits, majoring in Political Science at UConn-Storrs. Not a tough schedule, in fact, it may have been one of the easier ones according to some other freshmen that’s going to UConn. My expected GPA for the fall is a 3.92, according to the MyEdu website.
