Term/Block?

I'm trying to fill out the Boston University supplemental form, but I have no idea what the difference is between a term/block. At my high school, we operate on the quarter system, and most classes are for the full year, but some electives are for only a semester. Term? Block?

a term is typically a semester. 2 semestes usually equals a year. Students on semester system usually take between 5 and 7 semester classes per term. Stuents on a block system usually have 3 blocks per school year and take 2-3 courses per block (usually each block is equivilant to a year long course). If your school transcripts report 1 grade for the entire year, you should report just that grade, not all the quarter grades. If your school reports all grades on the transcript, I would report the 2nd and 4th quarters which would fall at the end of tranditional semesters. Having said all that... call BU and ask how they want you to report the classes. Clear as mud?

That makes perfect sense. Thanks so much for replying with such speed!
