Test with japanese poems, the west, math experimental, looking for extra terrestrials

What's the difference between q&a and sas?
And where would we find out the information about what section was experimental, the break down of the test, etc.?

College i agree.

so wait...what is the answer to the first paragraph thing...I put that it was an educational yet personally fulfilling research project (or something to that effect)... is that right?

Thats what i put.

Yeah because she said she was doing it for her doctorate and then later in that paragraph she said she was hoping to find some interesting poems--but then she was dissapointed because they sucked, or whatever.

Personal + Educational

thats what i put..others are saying it's "an anticipated experience gone sour". but i didnt put that because i found her tone to be indifferent throughout the writing; i didnt find any hints that she was eager to read the poems.

anyone have an idea about my earlier question: the last question of the SETI passage asking the purpose of the passage?

nj: what were the answer choices?

college: I think that might have been another question (?)

no its the same question asking about the first paragraph

i put educational+personal
another choice was anticipated experience gone sour

Well I thought the question was about like the author's motivation for researching the Japanese poems...

the answer choices were promoting an unpopular view (which i thought was wrong) and some other choices.

ya maybe that was the question. but the two choices i put were for the same question.

hey n1 i remember that question...yeah i put it supported an unpopular topic because seti is pretty random. and the other answer choices either sounded too gung-ho or didn't seem to fit. i don't really remember the other choices though. what were the choices for the octopus sentence completion?

I agree with bionic, I think there were two different questions. One asked the author's purpose for analyzing the works and the other asked the purpose of the first paragraph. I put "educational and personal experience" for the first one and something about the project not meeting expectations for the second one.

notfadeaway: one of the choices for the octopus one was miniscule...innocuous, I put that but I've since learned that I was wrong.

purpose of first paragraph: talk about a project that failed
motivation for analyzing poems: personal and educational experience

i agree with no fadeaway abt the SETI--it discussed an unpopular scienc eprogram (or something like that)...

what did u guys put for the question that was like:

"gardners would use fertilizers more (if they can be shown to increase crop production)"

() = underlined

I said A (as it is) because all the answers seemed wrong because they were awkwardly constructed...

I don't remember what I put but I don't think it was A because it doesn't specify what the "they" is referring to.

but i think ALL had they or them...and the rest were awkward

i put the same as albert

sexy...i hope u r a writing BEAST, that would be Sexy... (lol, i crack myself up)

seriously tho... r u a writing beast?? r u sure?? anyone else sure??
