If the finances are the same, the social life is more hopping at A&M for white, black, and Hispanic people. UTD is largely Asian. UTD has a weak social life. BUT, UTD has great scholarships and decent housing and is in a nicer city. Academically, somewhat the same. Except A&M frustrates me as you often cannot get in to the classes you need and will be stuck in school an extra semester or two. My child ended up going to UTD even though she had preferred A&M. In the end, I like UTD better than A&M. The value of the degrees will be similar. Except people outside the state, not from Texas, will often regard UTD better than A&M. People within the state often know how far UTD has come and view both equally. The alumni attachment to A&M is decreasing so that boost for employment is going down. UTD has higher average stats in every area. A&M has football.
