By the way, i'm not a USC fan, just an observer.

Yea, guess I was close (in terms of the score).
I had a feeling that Vince Young was going to scramble on 4th down. I believe he did that against the Wolverines in last year's Rose Bowl in exactly the similar situation. So I'm surprise that they didn't have someone spy him.
Pete Carroll is a class act. He handled it with alot of class.
My only question is, what was up with using the last timeout during the two point conversion? I mean, I think saving the timeout and use it in hope of tying it would be more important rather than worrying about the two point conversion (yea, I know if texas was stop on the two point conversion, a FG would win it, but you cant run if you cant walk right?)
The game sure did live up to the hype. Atleast the streak ended against a very deserving team (instead of UCLA or Cal).

"The reason why they won was because of the refs. They gave the horns a free touchdown when they didnt review that one play where Young pitched the ball to the RB from his knees, and the RB scored. Also, young threw a pass to a guy for like a 10 yard gain, then a USC linebacker punched the ball out, it was clearly a fumble, but the refs didnt call it......very bad refs.....very biased."

No. I knew USC fans would bring that up, and yes it was wrong, but UT would most certainly have score on that drive anyways. Also, there was a CLEAR interception that was not challenged (purposely as compensation).

Note: Our kicker missed a total of 4 points, which would have made us win by a total of 7 (possible overtime had the lateral touchdown been ignored).

The 10yrd pass was incomplete by most standards. It is debateable because there is no defining aspect to find if it was a completed catch. He had contact for <1second, which in many eyes was incomplete.

Oh yea, there were also some calls that went USC's way.

Overall, the missed/bad calls were equal for both sides, and in the end Texas won.

Even with the bad call on Young's lateral, USC was still up by 12 with like 6-7 minutes left but let it slip. I thought it was over by then

Speaking of laterals, I felt bad for Bush but was like... what the...

Ya, true. He was just trying to do too much.

"Look at how shiny tha crystal is, isn't SHINY?" - Young

First and foremost, congratulations to Texas.

For every member of Troy out there, take solace in the fact that when you walk into the bookstore, you won't be bombarded with national championship merchandise that is both a) "burnt" orange and b) emblazoned with... a bovine.

I have to laugh at the (class act) UT student earlier who tried to link our team name with the condom brand. Yes, a team name derived from a city-state renowned for its valor is clearly inferior, mascotwise, to a specific breed of cattle raised solely for slaughter.

With that commentary though, again, congrats to UT.

"I havent seen someone go through that many trojans since collin ferrell at his bachelor party"

It's funny how the all the kids who were talking about Texas can't show their faces on this board anymore. Hehe

Also wanted to remind the dumb USC supporters of Leinert's quote

"I still think we're a better football team, they just made the plays in the end."

I lost all respect for him after this.

Hook 'Em

The 4th and 2. Come on, if we had made that we would have won. And then, we let Vince Young go until 4th and 5. We were unable to contain him. Texas won, but what should be highlighted is how usc LOST. We had so many errors.

Most people do realize that if we made just ONE....ONE less mistake than we did, that win would have been ours, not Vince Young's. (and I say Vince Young, not Texas, as he did most of the work in reality)

Oh, and I have to say this: Someone who saw my USC car sticker came up to me and told me that he had recorded the game and watched it again the next day, hoping that somehow it would change and USC won.

"Yea We still think we are a better team"(quote matt linert). Man that is one classy guy. I hope it feels good to have a quarterback who is such a jerk.

"I hope it feels good to have a quarterback who is such a jerk."

Yeah? Well I hope it feels good to have a quarterback who... oh wait. You actually DON'T have a quarterback named Vince Young anymore... he decided just today to go for the NFL draft.

Meaning, that while Texas is an awesome team, without Young you guys won't have the chance to even make it to another National Championship next year, much less crow about it.

I don't hate the Longhorns or anything. In fact, I'll say congratulations to them again, for winning this year's Rose Bowl. It's not like they'll win next year's, anyway. :D

Matt stayed another year. Vince is leaving. Peals is right. I think leaving is a much more jerkish move.

I have to agree. If you only have a yr to go, might as well stay and finish up that college degree. Afterall, talent is something that will stay with him; it's not going to suddenly disappear just because he decided to not join the draft this year.

Well, it's official: Texas is definitely NOT going to have a repeat championship run next year, since Vince Young is going pro. :D

Of course, no word on Reggie yet.

Oh and by the way austin, remember how Vince Young acted when it was announced that Bush won the Heisman? ;)

i hope it feels good not having a quarterback anymore. vince young announced today that hes entering the nfl draft. to bad he doesnt have half the heart of a matt lienart or carson palmer. hell probably go to houston as theyhave righjts to the first pick, so hell still be playing for texas, but this time hell be playing what will be the worst team in the nfl: the texans.

Bush is the 1st round pick. He is the surest bet. Vince Young is probably second or somewhere before Leinart.

Bush should be the 1st pick; they already have David Carr at QB, who was the 1st pick two years ago.
