You write about thanking me and saying all kinds of nice things that don't need to be said, I'm just having fun, and love the students. The real hero is my husband.

At 7 am on Sunday mornings he's carrying all my coolers, tables, supplies for the Bible class. He drives the 42 miles to KP, then sets everything up, turns on music the students like, and chats with fellows who need advice. He then teaches Bible Class, runs upstairs, leads the service and preaches. Often in the afternoon, he takes students to diners to get to know them.

Monday-Friday, he commutes 2 1/2 hours a day to a demanding job, so he can support what we do, since we are totally volunteers. He comes home to a quick dinner, so he can prepare his Bible Class and sermons every evening, and get the bulletin ready.

Thursday mornings, 7 am again, he loads the car for me, for the Midshipmen Women's Bible study and the Cookie Cafe. The minivan is full , and he never complains, even in the evening when he unloads the car. He also, is a great listener when I tell him about the fun things at the Cookie Cafe, on the way home.

This weekend he does the run to the academy for a midshipman, then to Kennedy Airport to pick up the girlfriend, so we can chaperone a fun weekend for them in our home, he never complains.

Saturdays, we walk around the lake and he spends the rest of the day finishing off his talks. Then it's 7am Sunday morning again........

So who is the hero???? not me!!!! We've been married 40 wonderful years, and he is absolutely what every gal wishes to have in a husband. I am madly in love with my best friend, and plan to keep him forever.

We are going to teach a series on "Marriage Christian Style". Do you think we know anything about it?

I have to get this in before he sees what I wrote. He's such a humble person he would erase it. But he is the real hero in so much of what is going on in the chapel program.
