thank-you letter

so i just had my interview two days ago and i realized that i have not yet sent the ec a thank you email

and then i realized i dont know how to write onee

i know its supposed to be personal but the interview itself was a fail and we didn't really connect at all, but i still want to write a thank you

please help!!

(i need examples of what you guys sent or what to write or w/e)

Seriously?

I’m a professor at a liberal arts college, and here are the sorts of email thank-you notes I appreciate:

Minimal but effective: “Thank you for taking the time to meet with me on [date] to discuss my application to [program]. Sincerely, [name]”

Informative and effective: “Thank you for taking the time to meet with me on [date] to discuss my application to [program]. I particularly enjoyed learning about [insert]. Based on our conversation, I’m more convinced than ever that I’m a match for your program. I think I could benefit from [program offering] and I also believe I could add [brief statement of some quality or skill set]. Sincerely, [name]”

Personally, I’m always happy to receive the minimal note, though it’s sometimes interesting to read a more informative follow-up. Whatever you do, keep it brief and light.

Thank-you!
I actually just sent mine and it sounded a lot like your second example.

Thank-you (again)

Should I just call my interviewer? I don’t have his address or email

yeah that happened to my friend too…she just called him up and arranged the interview.

Oh, I mean how should I tell him thank you? Should I just call him up and tell him thanks?

^ Of course you could call and just leave a brief message if you have no other contact information.
